How to Play Trout

Your mission: hatch as many trout as possible. Like any good spawning, it's gonna take a lot of eggs. Exactly 1,000,000 eggs to hatch a trout - and those eggs are consumed in the process. Trout are forever. Eggs are fleeting.

The Basics

• You start each day with 20 turns.
• Each turn, you'll see a card and wager anywhere from 1 egg to all-in on whether the next card will be higher or lower.
• Guess right: you win eggs. Guess wrong: you lose them.
• Ties always lose. There's no such thing as a sure thing.

Eggs & Trout

• Your egg balance carries over day to day.
• Reach 1,000,000 eggs to hatch one trout. That resets your eggs by a million and adds one trout to your school.
• Lose all your eggs, and you'll have to wait until the next day for a reset of 20 fresh eggs.
• The more trout you hatch, the higher your lifetime score.

Resets & Limits

• You get 20 turns per day - use them or lose them.
• Each player gets their own deck, freshly shuffled at the start of every new day.
• At the start of each month, the entire game resets: everyone returns to 20 eggs and zero trout. It's a fresh stream for a new season.

Pro Tips

• Play steady if you want to last, bold if you want glory.
• Trout are hatched by patience. Eggs are lost by greed.
